Outreach Services

AMCAB’s Outreach staff are the “people link” to a variety of federal, state and local programs throughout Marquette and Alger counties. The Outreach staff provide direct coordination and follow-up for the many programs available and provided by all human service agencies to assist individuals and families in Alger and Marquette counties. Beyond linking individuals and families with other human service agencies, the Outreach staff also coordinate various direct services provided by AMCAB.

The Outreach staff provide “one-on-one” contact to better understand all of the needs of the individual or family. AMCAB’s Outreach staff will also conduct a home visit with an individual or family unable to get out of the home, in order to better understand their needs.

In the past few years, AMCAB has received funding for emergency heating and utility assistance for those individuals or families who have shut-off notices or may be in danger of running out of fuel. A call to our Outreach staff can help determine if funding is currently available.

In addition, AMCAB’s Outreach staff has also been trained and has assisted individuals and families in e-filing their Federal income taxes for the Earned Income Tax Credit. To see if you qualify, simply contact our Outreach staff. The service is provided free and in the past year almost a half million dollars in tax refunds was put back into the hands of our clients .
